Two post-docs positions at the UNED, Madrid

For an EU project, we are looking for two post-doctoral researchers to work with the UNED (Madrid) team to study the intersection of intergenerational inequalities and geographical inequalities over the life-course within the Horizon MAPINEQ project:
We offer two full-time positions for a max of 33 months. The preferred starting date is January 2023, although the exact date will be agreed upon the selected candidates.
The job is based at the UNED, Madrid and is part of an Horizon Europe project lead by a consortium that includes UNED Madrid and the University of Turku, Population Europe (Berlin), WZB (Berlin), Tallinn University , Stockholm University, Groningen University and Oxford University.

- Possibility of periods of visitorship at the research institutions that are members of the MAPINEQ consortium
Along with the requirements for the job, the following credentials will be positively valued:
- Phd in Sociology or in neighborhood disciplines.
- Proven research experience in the field of social stratification.
- Proficiency at data scraping and data visualization and maps.
- Proficiency at statistical packages as STATA and/or R and/Python.
- PhD in Sociology or neighborhood disciplines (completed or with a scheduled date for the defense at the time of application).
- Spanish Nationality or permission of residence and work in Spain at the moment of signing the contract.
The initial tasks related to the job will be:
- Conduct independent research on topics related to the geography of educational inequalities by parental SES.
- Collaborate with other scientists of the Consortium to conduct research on topics related to the geography of intergenerational inequalities over the life-course.
- Collaborate with other scientists of the Consortium in the production of maps with indicators of intergenerational inequalities at fine grained subnational levels.
- Collaborate with the IP to analyse mechanisms underlying compensatory and multiplicative advantage, focusing on educational expectations and parental active intervention, using national longitudinal data sets.
