Reykjavík Pride
Reykjavík Pride has been an annual event in Reykjavík since 1999, with the first official Reykjavík Pride taking place in August 2000. Its history, however, goes back to 1993, when Icelandic gays and lesbiands first gathered in the city center of Reykjavík to demand freedom and human rights. This protest was repeated in 1994.
