Justo Corti Varela

Project Manager

Justo Corti is Professor in the Department of Public International Law in the UNED and the person in charge of the Jean Monnet module in European Climate Law. He holds a PhD from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, he is a visiting professor at the Université Paris Nanterre, and visiting researcher at UCL, CNRS and the Scoula Superiore Sant'Anna. He has developed his academic career around the interrelationships between environmental law and economic, international and European law. .

MARIA TERESA MARCOS MARTIN

MIGUEL ÁNGEL MARTÍN LÓPEZ

COLLABORATOR

Tenure professor of Public International Law and international cooperation technician of the Diputación de Córdoba, he has developed his professional activity there for almost fifteen years, with projects in Latin America, Maghreb and sub-Saharan Africa, he is on leave since 2016. He participated in the creation of the Chair of Studies on Hunger and Poverty at the University of Córdoba in 2005 and is a member of the steering committee of the Observatory of the Right to Food of Spain as well as the French Lascaux Center for Transitions. He has been awarded several research prizes on research issues in agricultural and food law by Casa África, FAO Mexico and the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Nuria Pastor Palomar

COLLABORATOR

Nuria Pastor Palomar has a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense and a PhD in Law from the National University of Distance Education (UNED). She is currently an associate professor in Public International Law at the UNED. Her main area of research is International Human Rights Law.

Prior to this, he was Commissioner of the Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC). He graduated from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität with a degree in Law and from the CEPC with a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law and Political Science. He has a PhD in Law from the UNED.

Cristina Ruza Paz-Curbera

Collaborator

Assistant professor of Applied Economics at UNED. She graduated from Alcalá de Henares University with a Degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Public Finance and Taxation. She also graduated from the University of Wales with a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance. She has a PhD in Applied Economics. MARÍA DOLORES SÁNCHEZ GALERA

LLB (Honours) Glasgow University, PhD Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa); member of the Pascual Madoz Institute of Territory, Urbanism and Environment of the UC3M where she has previously been 'Experienced Professor'- CONEX-Marie Curie dealing with energy policy and Sustainability. For several years, she worked in Law and Development working for IDLO and WBI, HiiL (The Hague) and Caritas. She joined the DIRPOLIS of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in 2011. Currently she continues to collaborate as a freelancer for associations, research institutes, universities, and social foundations. Part of ECPE Project U. Camerino (Italy). She is a member of REDS (SDSN) and studies topics of global and multidisciplinary interest, such as the commons, and sustainability linked to the development of culture and education.

ROSA GILES CARNERO

Collaborator

Professor of Public International Law at the University of Huelva, and member of the Center for Research in Contemporary Thought and Innovation for Social Development (COIDESO) of the same University. She develops a line of research related to the analysis of the international legal regime on climate change, and of European climate policy, which has resulted in a significant number of publications on the subject. She has coordinated a Jean Monnet Module on European climate action at the University of Huelva; and one of her studies in this field has been awarded in the 2019 edition of the European Research Prize promoted by EuroBasque.

CARLOS MATAIX ALDEANUEVA

Collaborator

Full Professor of the Department of Organizational Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He directs the Center for Innovation and Technology for Development of the same University (itdUPM). He has a long history in the field of international development cooperation. He was responsible for the Planning and Aid Quality Unit of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). He has also been a visiting researcher at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.

Fernando Val Garijo

Collaborator

Fernando Val Garijo is an Associate Professor in the Public International Law Department of UNED (Faculty of Law). His major research interests focus on International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights and International Organizations, with special regard to European Union issues. Out of the academic field, he has acted as external legal adviser for the International Law Department of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (2008-2011).

Álvaro Jarillo Aldeanueva

Collaborator

Álvaro Jarillo Aldeanueva holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University and a PhD in Law from the UNED, with postgraduate training on the European Union at the San Pablo CEU University and the Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He began his career working as an intern in Geneva at the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and in Brussels at the Directorate-General for External Relations of the European Commission. In the field of research of his doctoral thesis, he participated as an observer of the main international organizations (United Nations, European Union, Organization of American States and OSCE) in the processes of transition to democracy of countries such as Indonesia, East Timor, Serbia, Montenegro, Kenya, Ecuador, Haiti and Honduras.

Javier García Lacal

Javier García is an agricultural engineer, trainer and advisor in regenerative livestock and organic livestock, specialized in the management of directed grazing and in the nutritional qualities of animal products handled in grazing. He takes active part in the Regenerative Agriculture Association and other related associations, such as the Association of Producers of Cattle Raised on Pasture, or Seven Mountain Valleys Cooperative, - dedicated to the production and marketing of organic beef- of which he is a founding member.
