Iván Villanueva Jordán is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Professional Translation and Interpretation at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). He holds a PhD in Translation from Universitat Jaume I, where he also held a postdoctoral position within the TRAMA Research Group (2022–2023). He has been a visiting professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (2015–2016, 2017). His work has appeared in leading journals and edited volumes on translation, audiovisual translation, and gender and queer studies. He is the author of Traducción audiovisual y teleficción queer: teoría y metodología (Editorial UPC, 2024) and is currently co-editing The Palgrave Handbook of Translation, Gender and Sexuality. His research focuses on audiovisual popular culture, translation, and LGBTQ+ studies.
