Carla Botella Tejera (Universitat D'Alacant, Spain)

Carla Botella Tejera is senior lecturer at the University of Alicante and a certified English-Spanish Translator/Interpreter. She holds a Ph.D. in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Alicante (2010), a MA in New Technologies Applied to Education (2010) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Multilingual Advertising Transcreation (2020). In the last few years, Carla has published several articles on audiovisual and creative translation, DAT, humour, accessibility and intertextuality, and she has coedited 6 books (2018, 2020, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024) and 2 special issues (Panace@ XXIII(56), 2022; Transletters 1(07), 2023). She is part of the ARENA (Accessibility, Audiovisual Translation and Language Learning) teaching innovation group and the TRADIT (Didactic Audiovisual Translation) research group at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), and of the TEATRADSUAL and INCOGNITO research groups from the University of Alicante. Carla is the editorial coordinator of the Encyclopedia of Translation and Interpreting (ENTI), the web editor of the Iberian Association for Translation and Interpreting Studies (AIETI), she is part of the editorial board of the journal Monografías de Traducción e Interpretación (MonTI) and she is co-director of the Cinema and Audiovisual Cultural Programme of the University of Alicante.
