high-level meetings in Brussels, reinforcing its commitment to shaping the future of higher education in Europe. The meetings brought together key decision-makers, university leaders, and European institutions to discuss the strategic role of university alliances in driving systemic change and improving the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Meetings and Participation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On&nbsp;<strong>February 26, 2025<\/strong>, the Rectors of the UOC, \u00c0ngels Fit\u00f3, and Bifr\u00f6st University,&nbsp; Margr\u00e9t J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir, attended the&nbsp;<strong>Meeting of Rectors of the 65 European University Alliances<\/strong>, where they met with&nbsp;<strong>Roxana M\u00eenzatu, Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness<\/strong>. OpenEU\u2019s initiatives closely align with the European Union Skills Agenda, notably through the development of micro-credentials, the joint Master\u2019s on climate and sustainability, and the digital skills programmes in data and AI literacy. The OpenEU Professional GPS also supports lifelong learning, while efforts on mobility and joint degrees reinforce skills circulation across the EU. These initiatives reflect a shared vision for equipping individuals with future-ready skills and strengthening Europe\u2019s competitiveness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another major theme was the&nbsp;<strong>necessity of political advocacy<\/strong>&nbsp;at both the EU level and within member states to ensure sustained support for university alliances.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A crucial challenge faced by the alliances is fostering long-term&nbsp;<strong>engagement and institutional commitment<\/strong>.
