OBJETO DEL CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS AFRO\u2010HISP\u00c1NICOS<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

El Centro de Estudios Afro\u2010Hisp\u00e1nicos de la UNED, en adelante CEAH, tiene por objeto exclusivo promover y coordinar la investigaci\u00f3n multidisciplinar de las poblaciones afrohisp\u00e1nicas del mundo, as\u00ed como difundir \u2013mediante la docencia y la publicaci\u00f3n\u2013\u00a0 los resultados de esa investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>

El CEAH excluye de forma expl\u00edcita y deliberada cualquier otro posible objetivo pol\u00edtico, diplom\u00e1tico, social, ideol\u00f3gico o filantr\u00f3pico que pueda constre\u00f1ir o condicionar la libre producci\u00f3n de conocimientos en ese \u00e1mbito de estudio.<\/p>

Entendemos por \u201cpoblaciones afro\u2010hisp\u00e1nicas\u201d todas las poblaciones humanas residentes en \u00c1frica y\/o de origen africano, hist\u00f3ricamente afectadas o influidas, en el pasado y en el presente, por las lenguas, culturas y sociedades hisp\u00e1nicas de Europa y Am\u00e9rica.<\/p>

Entendemos que Hispania, como Iberia \u2013a diferencia de Espa\u00f1a y Portugal\u2010\u00a0tiene actualmente s\u00f3lo un referente geogr\u00e1fico, no pol\u00edtico: la pen\u00ednsula sudoccidental de Europa. Lo cual nos lleva a incluir como objeto de nuestro estudio a tres\u00a0\u00a0bloques o tipos principales de poblaci\u00f3n:<\/p>

  1. Las poblaciones africanas que fueron colonizadas por los Estados de Espa\u00f1a y Portugal y cuyos descendientes habitan los territorios de los actuales Estados independientes surgidos de los procesos de descolonizaci\u00f3n de ambas metr\u00f3polis.<\/li>
  2. Las poblaciones de origen africano en las antiguas colonias espa\u00f1olas y portuguesas de Am\u00e9rica (en su inmensa mayor\u00eda, descendientes de los africanos llevados como esclavos a dichas colonias)<\/li>
  3. Las poblaciones africanas actualmente residentes en Espa\u00f1a y Portugal: inmigrantes de origen africano.<\/li><\/ol>

    Aunque entendemos que \u00e9se es el \u00e1mbito m\u00e1s amplio en el que deben tender a encuadrarse las investigaciones del CEAH, su punto de partida \u2013el \u00e1mbito al que ahora mismo se circunscriben las investigaciones de quienes promovemos el CEAH\u2013 se limita de facto, por el momento, a las poblaciones africanas que fueron colonizadas por Espa\u00f1a y que habitan actualmente los territorios de Guinea Ecuatorial y Marruecos. Es voluntad del CEAH ir ampliando progresivamente esos l\u00edmites e ir abriendo las investigaciones a una perspectiva te\u00f3rica comparativa que tenga en cuenta todo el \u00e1mbito afro\u2010hisp\u00e1nico, en el que \u2013como hemos dicho\u2010\u00a0consideramos incluido el \u00e1mbito portugu\u00e9s y luso\u2010americano.<\/p>

    Consideramos asimismo fundamental que las investigaciones promovidas por el CEAH sean de car\u00e1cter multi\u2010disciplinar e inter\u2010disciplinar, que rompan con las artificiales y esterilizantes barreras te\u00f3ricas y metodol\u00f3gicas actualmente imperantes entre las distintas disciplinas acad\u00e9micas, que se reparten burocr\u00e1ticamente el \u00e1mbito inseparable de las Humanidades y las Ciencias Sociales. Ese es el motivo de que entre los promotores del CEAH (tanto entre los que somos miembros de la UNED como entre los de otras Universidades espa\u00f1olas y extranjeras y los que trabajan fuera de cualquier Universidad) encontremos antrop\u00f3logos, historiadores, juristas, arque\u00f3logos, fil\u00f3logos, cr\u00edticos literarios, diplom\u00e1ticos, periodistas y estudiosos\u00a0 \u00a0sin arraigo acad\u00e9mico: el CEAH abrir\u00e1 sus puertas a todo investigador que busque desinteresadamente el conocimiento y la superaci\u00f3n de los estrechos l\u00edmites acad\u00e9micos de su disciplina.<\/p>

    AIMS OF THE CENTRE FOR AFRO-HISPANIC STUDIES<\/strong><\/p>

    The Centre for Afro-Hispanic Studies at the UNED in Madrid, hereinafter referred to as CEAH, has as its core mission the promotion and coordination of multidisciplinary research of the world\u2019s Afro-Hispanic populations, as well as the dissemination of the results of this research through teaching and publication.<\/p>

    The CEAH explicitly and deliberately excludes any other potential political, diplomatic, social, ideological or philanthropic objectives that may constrain or condition the free production of knowledge in this field of study.<\/p>

    By Afro-Hispanic populations we understand all peoples living in Africa and\/or of African origin, which have been historically affected or impacted, in the past or in the present, by the languages, cultures and societies of Hispanic communities in Europe and the Americas.<\/p>

    We consider Hispania, like Iberia \u2013unlike Spain and Portugal\u2014 only as a geographical (and not as a political) reference: that is, the southwestern peninsula of Europe. This leads us to include three main areas as the field and subject of our study:<\/p>

    1. The African populations colonized by Spanish and Portuguese states, and whose descendants inhabit the territories of the current independent States that arose from the decolonization processes from both metropolises.<\/li>
    2. Populations of African origin in the former Spanish and Portuguese colonies of America (primarily descendants of Africans brought as slaves to these colonies).<\/li>
    3. African populations currently residing in Spain or Portugal as immigrants of African origin.<\/li><\/ol>

      Although we understand that this is the broadest scope in which the investigations of the CEAH should tend to be framed, its starting point \u2013the scope to which the investigations of those of us who promote the CEAH are currently dedicated to\u2014 is de facto limited, for the moment, to the African populations that were colonised by Spain and currently inhabit the territories of Equatorial Guinea, Morocco and Western Sahara. It is the CEAH\u2019s intention to gradually widen the scope and open up the research to a comparative theoretical perspective that takes into account the entire Afro-Hispanic sphere, in which \u2013as we previously stated\u2014 we intend to encompass the Portuguese and Portuguese-American sphere.<\/p>

      We also consider it essential that the research promoted by CEAH be multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary in nature, breaking away with the artificial and sterilizing theoretical and methodological barriers currently prevailing among the different academic and disciplinary traditions, which bureaucratically divide the inseparable fields of the Humanities and the Social Sciences. This is the reason why amongst the members of the CEAH, which include faculty from the UNED, researchers at other universities in Spain or at a number of institutions abroad, and those who work outside of the University, we count on the expertise of anthropologists, historians, archaeologists, philologists, literary and cultural critics, diplomats, journalists, musicologists, and scholars without traditional academic backgrounds. The CEAH will open its doors to any researcher who independently seeks knowledge in these areas and the overcoming of the narrow academic constraints of their discipline.<\/p>

      El Centro de Estudios Afro-Hisp\u00e1nicos (CEAH) fue creado oficialmente por acuerdo del Consejo de Gobierno de la UNED el 5 de mayo de 2015. El proyecto<\/a> fue impulsado y promovido por un grupo multidisciplinar de investigadores, entre los que destacan Juan Aranzadi (miembro fundador e investigador principal del proyecto que constituy\u00f3 el centro) y Gonzalo \u00c1lvarez Chillida.<\/p>

      Desde sus inicios, el CEAH naci\u00f3 con la voluntad de superar las barreras acad\u00e9micas tradicionales para estudiar de forma cient\u00edfica y desinteresada la realidad de las poblaciones africanas y sus di\u00e1sporas.<\/p>
